DIOS TE AMA. A Mexican taquería, lifted off the street and dropped right next to Hongdae Station Exit 9.

WHATEVER TACO is built around one idea: take the visual of a small Mexican taquería — the turquoise vintage wood, the red-and-white striped paper, the DEPENDABLE CHAMPION sign — and rebuild it, almost exactly, in the middle of Hongdae. Inside: 12-hour braised birria, real carnitas, sweet-savory galbi chicken. People who come once tend to come back.

Do you take reservations?
We don't run a reservation system — it's walk-in, order at the kiosk. For group bookings or buy-outs, please reach out via Instagram DM (@whatevertaco_hongdae).
What are your hours and when's last order?
Every day, 11:30 AM through 1:30 AM the next morning. Last order is 1:00 AM. Open year-round, no rest days.
Can I come alone?
Absolutely. We have plenty of single seats — bar counter, solo seats, counter seats — and the kiosk-order setup is built around eating solo without any awkwardness.
What should I order first?
The two crowd favorites: Birria Taco (₩6,300), beef braised for 12 hours with ten Mexican chiles, and Cheeria Taco (₩6,800), the same birria blanketed in three cheeses. If it's your first time, pair them.
Is takeout available?
Yes — order takeout at the kiosk. Late at night, we recommend eating it fresh: the place is right by the station, so most people just grab a seat.
Is there parking?
No on-site parking. Hongdae's main shopping street is hard to drive into anyway. Best bet: Hongdae Station (Lines 2 / AREX / Gyeongui-Jungang) Exit 9, then about 3 minutes on foot (143m).
What payment methods do you take?
Credit and debit cards, plus mobile payments including ZeroPay. We also accept the high-fuel relief credit/debit card subsidy.
